WHAT IS CREOSITYSPACE?

CreositySpace is a K-5 NGSS curriculum that also engages students in early career exploration. Each unit is designed around “everyday” entrepreneurs and gives teachers the flexibility to integrate STEM into any subject. The personal stories and discoveries of today’s young entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds inspire students to develop their own ideas and inventions, as well as engage in early career exploration and possibilities in STEM professions. This approach makes STEM current, real and relatable to all students because students get to see successful STEM professionals who look like them, share similar interests or come from similar backgrounds.

HOW MUCH TEACHER SUPPORT DO YOU OFFER?
Successful implementation of CreositySpace curriculum—be it in 1 classroom, across a grade band, or throughout a school—is important to us. CreositySpace offers ongoing support to teachers. We are not a “one-and-done” educational partner. CreositySpace also offers a 6-hour, hands-on, CTLE-certified PD workshop that can be adapted according to a district’s needs. All full workshops include a follow-up meeting (on-site or virtually) to check in on unit implementation, answer questions and brainstorm ideas.
HOW DID WE GO FROM PROGRAM TO CURRICULUM?
The evolution of the CreositySpace program into a primary science curriculum was influenced by more than 100+ in-school programs it conducted in New York and Washington states between 2013-2017, and input actively sought and received from K-5 educators and students across 10 states every step of the way. As a thank you, our team of educators provides unlimited support to educators and districts using the CreositySpace curriculum.
WHY ENTREPRENEURS?
Entrepreneurs represent the diversity of STEM professions and professionals, who demonstrate that grit & perseverance pay off in unexpected ways. They are on the front lines of innovation launching technology startups, conducting forward-looking research, creating new products to solve complex industrial and social challenges. Most important, their teams include both STEM-inclined and STEM-curious individuals.
HOW MANY CURRICULUM UNITS DO YOU CURRENTLY OFFER?
CreositySpace offers 21 units—15 of which form our primary NGSS curriculum. Each unit is built around a featured entrepreneur, their technology and their company, with and 2-4 additional highlighted entrepreneurs in the same industry. The majority of entrepreneurs range in age between 20-39, creating an even closer connection for the student.
IT COMES IN ANOTHER BOX, JUST SMALLER?
But good things come in small packages… Your educator guide, your students’ colorful My STEM Stories and My STEM Notebooks, and the activity kit—with consumable and non-consumable components—all arrive in a self-contained box that is yours to keep and easy to store. No more sending back the kit. No time constraints on when you must use the kit and unit.
HOW MANY STUDENTS DOES EACH UNIT SERVE?
Each CreositySpace unit is outfitted for a class of 30 students.
WHAT IS THE BOOK OF IDEAS AND WHY SHOULD MY STUDENTS USE IT?
The Book of Ideas (BOI) connects kids to their ideas and helps them to see value in their ideas. It was designed to encourage kids to write down or draw their own ideas and inventions. Use the Book of Ideas as a center during your ELA block to give your students a purpose to write, and to help foster creativity and independent thinking.
WHY ARE STORIES SO IMPORTANT?

Stories matter—especially real-life stories. Functional MRI’s of the brain (fMRI) reveal that our brains show similar activity when we hear the same story. In one study, prior to hearing the same personal story, listeners’ brains showed rather different activity. Once the story started, however, their brain activity becomes synced, or “aligned.” Critically, it’s not until the listeners hear a real-life story that high-order areas like their frontal cortices begin to align.
